Over the course of 2020, Lockheed Martin Canada is proud to have dedicated $370,000 CAD to support efforts related to COVID-19 relief. This charitable giving will help support the communities in which we live and work and will provide assistance to some of the most vulnerable populations across Canada.
The first philanthropic contribution was made to Food Banks Canada. Lockheed Martin Canada donated $70,000 CAD to their COVID-19 campaign to help fund critical efforts responding to COVID-19’s devastating impacts on the food bank system. Decline in volunteers, shrinking stock and lack of financial support are just some of the major concerns food banks are facing as a result of COVID-19. Lockheed Martin Canada’s donation will contribute to supporting local foodbanks and securing additional resources including food, funds and volunteers for communities from coast to coast.
Second, the donation will also support the delivery of local programs and services across five Military Family Resource Centers in major sites Lockheed Martin Canada operates: Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, Calgary and Victoria. The focus for these programs is again directed at mental health support for children and youth from military families.
This is a critical time to focus on the well-being of our communities, especially when it comes to support for vulnerable populations and mental health resources. These donations are yet another example of how Lockheed Martin Canada strives to make a difference in the communities in which we live and work.
