About HIMARS

  • Combat-Proven Solution – HIMARS is a highly reliable, combat-proven, fielded system that has exceeded all performance requirements. The U.S. fleet of launchers has accumulated over 2 million operating hours. There are more than 540 fielded systems worldwide in service with the U.S. military and partners. 

  • HIMARS production capacity has already increased from 48 per year to 60 per year and is on track to meet the 96 per year capacity by the end of 2024. 

  • To meet this demand, the company has increased its tooling and maximized the space within its factory footprint. Lockheed Martin is also working with its long lead supply chain on increasing production and advancing funds to shorten manufacturing lead time.

  • On September 11, 2023, The Armaments Agency of the Polish Ministry of National Defense signed a framework agreement with Lockheed Martin for the HOMAR-A Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS). Under the program, Polish industry will work with Lockheed Martin to integrate key components of the HIMARS rocket launcher onto a Jelcz 6x6 truck. It includes technology transfer and production orders for HIMARS ammunition.  

  • On May 15, 2023, Lockheed Martin, through the U.S. Army, successfully delivered an initial shipment of HIMARS launchers to Poland

  • On April 28, 2023, the U.S. Army awarded $615 million for HIMARS production and associated equipment.
