Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod delivers passive detection, high-definition EO/IR imaging, laser designation and two-way video for air-to-air and air-to-surface missions. Its modular design lets operators rapidly add capabilities without changing aircraft avionics — keeping legacy fleets ready for the future — all with a sustainment model that keeps lifecycle cost low.

As mission needs evolve, Sniper’s modular architecture enables capability enhancements that extend the pod’s lifecycle and mission utility. Building on Sniper ATP’s proven technology, Sniper NTP pairs a Hybrid Base Station with the pod to enable secure 5th-to-4th generation interoperability, pod-to-pod datalinks and onboard edge computing for real-time targeting.

In practice, an F-35 can detect a target and, while maintaining stealth, pass precise coordinates to a Sniper-equipped aircraft or artillery unit. That platform can then engage the target using the pod’s laser designator — linking the modern battlespace like never before.

In this scenario, the F-35A remains in stealth mode while sending data to the F-16 via MADL. The F-16 then simultaneously sends data via MANET to the Ground Command and Control which then prompts HIMARS to execute a relocatable target
