One year into the COVID-19 pandemic, Lockheed Martin continues to support vulnerable suppliers, the health and safety of the workforce, and the communities where it operates while sustaining delivery of critical capabilities to the U.S. military and security partners.

To date, the corporation has accelerated payments to more than 10,750 suppliers, including more than 6,500 small businesses across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and 47 nations. Learn more about how we are supporting the defense industrial base.

In 2021, Lockheed Martin is averaging more than $400 million in accelerated payments per week to help sustain the defense industrial base. This continued flow of accelerated cash to small and vulnerable suppliers is only part of the corporation’s overall COVID-19 relief efforts.

In 2020, Lockheed Martin donated nearly $22 million to non-profit organizations and public schools to provide students with access to remote learning resources, support military families and veterans, and help us stand with communities trying to alleviate the educational, food and health challenges caused by pandemic.

Lockheed Martin has produced more than 154,000 face shields and gowns that have been distributed to frontline medical workers caring for COVID-19 patients, medically vulnerable seniors, and first responders in more than 20 states.

These donations have gone to approximately 300 locations, including Children’s hospitals, local fire departments, and senior living facilities that are integral parts of the communities where Lockheed Martin employees live and work.

In 2020, the corporation donated 300,000 meals to local communities surrounding nine Lockheed Martin locations.

In November, the public-private partnership Strategic Vaccines, LLC, announced Lockheed Martin is lending expertise to manufacturing FLOVID-20: a novel room temperature, stable, inhaled therapeutic for healthy patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

The work in computational fluid dynamics modeling will help maximize key manufacturing equipment performance of the vaccine. Recently, Canada-based artificial intelligence company DarwinAI announced Lockheed Martin has made an investment to help operationalize its COVID-Net initiative, which diagnoses COVID-19 using chest X-ray scans.

The corporation also donated air support to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), completing 11 missions to support the federal government’s COVID-19 response and relief efforts.See more about these life-saving flights here.

The support was recognized by Be The Match, operated by NMDP, with its annual “Be There Award” for Lockheed Martin’s help moving time-critical, life-saving bone marrow from Europe and Canada to needy patients who required transplants during COVID.

"Throughout 2020, the men and women of Lockheed Martin overcame the public health, operational and supply chain challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and continued to deliver the platforms, systems, and services essential to the national defense of the U.S. and its allies and to the continuation of scientific discovery. In concert with our resilient operational performance, we delivered strong financial results on behalf of our shareholders and contributed to our communities through the production of PPE, accelerated payments to small and medium businesses, and elevated charitable contributions to support a range of important local and national services.”
