Christian Marrone

Senior Vice President, Government Affairs


Christian Marrone is senior vice president of Government Affairs for Lockheed Martin. In this position, he directs the corporation’s activities with Congress and the Pentagon, and manages all federal, state and local government customer relationships.

Marrone previously served as vice president, Government Affairs. In this role, he helped to advance business growth for various platforms such as FIREHAWK® helicopters, and for capabilities that represent a shift toward Joint All-Domain Operations (JADO). He also led the company’s efforts for the Joint Strike Fighter campaign while supporting Lockheed Martin’s business resiliency during the pandemic through federal, state and local government advocacy.

Before joining Lockheed Martin, Marrone held the position of senior vice president at CSRA Inc., where he oversaw government relations and other business functions. He has also served as a senior presidential appointee in both the George W. Bush and Barack Obama administrations, in addition to his experience in state and local government and the private sector. He was chief of staff of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for former Secretary Jeh Johnson. Marrone also held several senior positions within the U.S. Department of Defense, including special assistant to then-Secretary Robert Gates and acting assistant secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs.

Marrone is a two-time recipient of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service and the Secretary of Homeland Security Distinguished Public Service Award. He is also a member of the 1995 Rose Bowl Championship Team. Marrone has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Pennsylvania, and his juris doctorate from Temple University.
