Sikorsky Australia's Nowra operation is dedicated to providing full sustainment solutions which includes operational, intermediate and deeper level maintenance, training and total logistics support for the Royal Australian Navy's fleet of MH-60R Seahawk helicopters.
Employing over 180 people, Sikorsky Australia’s Seahawk Romeo Program ensures availability of mission ready aircraft for deployment around the globe.
MH-60R Maintenance
Sikorsky Australia provides OEM standard Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services, covering all levels of aircraft maintenance. The MRO is focused on Heavy Maintenance activities such as entire aircraft refurbishment, major structural repair, and the incorporation of major modifications and options packages. The state of the art MRO ensures the delivery of our services which include aircraft and component inspections and maintenance, mobile repair teams including embedded staff in RAN SQN’s, aircraft storage and preservation, structural repairs, modifications, aircraft painting, and test flight support.
Logistics
The Sikorsky Australia logistics team has created a reputation internationally as a benchmark in the way to set up and deliver logistics services to the Military customer. This department is used as a showcase for future contract opportunities for Lockheed Martin.
Our team supports eight ships at sea, 816/725 Squadrons and the Sikorsky MRO. The individual teams that make up the Logistics Operational and Support units work seamlessly together to achieve the desired results for the customer. Individuals take ownership and accountability in line with our values.
The Logistics Operations team is customer focused and driven to achieve excellent outcomes.
Part 147 Training
Sikorsky Australia is a DASA Approved Part 147 Maintenance Training School, catering for the MH-60R (Romeo) Aircraft.
Our Maintenance Training Courses cover both theory and practical subjects with the expectation that all successful students will qualify for a DASR Part 66 B1.3 or B2 license on the MH-60R aircraft type.
With this approval we are able to provide our maintenance staff the opportunity to undertake the following training on site, supporting their career progression:
- MH-60R Familiarisation Course
- MH-60R Mechanical Types Course
- MH-60R Avionic Types Course
- Suite of MH-60R Differences Courses
Squadron Support Teams
SAAL is proud to have a team of Logistics staff and another of Authorised Maintenance Engineer’s (AME) embedded within the customer workplace located at 816/725 SQN on HMAS Albatross, these are commonly known as the SQN Support teams.
Our Maintenance team is comprised of experienced Avionics, Mechanical, and Structures maintenance staff who provide a high level of mentoring, guidance, and subject matter expertise to the RAN maintainers.
The Sikorsky Australia Logistics team is comprised of experienced and qualified logistics personnel, who maintain the Squadron sub-store to ensure material availability to Naval staff in direct support of maintenance and flying operations.
Both teams are pivotal in the customer achieving their mission by providing a stable and knowledgeable workforce in support of the RAN MH-60R platform.
Perth Forward Stocking Location (FSL)
The Perth Forward Stocking Location provides after-market support including airframe, component, and rotor blade maintenance along with material sales, design engineering, non-destructive testing, and maintenance training throughout the Asia Pacific to further improve the availability of S-92 helicopters in the critical oil and gas regions in Western Australia and throughout the region.
