Employee Benefits

At Lockheed Martin, we recognize that the health and well-being of our employees is a strong contributor to the health and well-being of our organization. Our employees are our greatest asset, and we offer a wide range of resources to meet their needs, as well as the time and support to succeed in their professional and personal lives. From competitive compensation and benefits programs, to on-site health and wellness centers, flexible work schedules, mental health support and financial tools, we offer a comprehensive host of total rewards to help ensure that our employees live happy, healthy, fulfilled lives inside and outside of work.

While most of our employees are based in the United States,a growing population works internationally. We understand the need to be locally and culturally appropriate with our benefits offerings, and we work hard to make sure all our employees feel part of the same organization while benefiting from investment in locally aligned packages. Health Care Benefits

In 2023, we spent over $1 billion on our benefits program in the United States, which covers employee well-being and preventative care. Lockheed Martin offers a large selection of premier health care providers to support our employees' physical and mental health. We continuously review our benefits program in comparison with other leading companies and use population health-focused data insights to make improvements. Over the past six years, we have expanded our family-building benefits; increased physical, speech and occupational therapy coverage; offered enhanced hearing aid and chiropractic coverage; added supplemental plans such as critical illness, and 24-hour accident and hospital indemnity; introduced new-to-market prescription drug programs to help reduce members’ out-of-pocket expenses; and added a new gym and grocery delivery membership program.

In 2022, we enhanced our in-network telemedicine coverage to 100% after deductible to better meet the needs of our employees. In 2023, we continued to see sustained utilization of 2,000% over pre-pandemic levels.

Wellness Incentives

Our Wellness Incentive program allows employees to earn dollars that go into their health savings accounts to use for medical expenses now or to save for the future. Lockheed Martin offers two ways to earn a wellness incentive each year. One way is to take an online health survey that produces a health score and provides access to helpful tips and online courses on topics such as sleep, meditation and stress to help employees make meaningful lifestyle changes to improve their overall health. Employees can also receive a biometric screening at our Health and Wellness centers, with their primary care physician or through our lab partner, which can help identify conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and prediabetes, and allow them to make adjustments to their lifestyles.

Health and Wellness Centers

On-site employee medical services are essential to the unique operations at some of our locations. Lockheed Martin operates 24 health and wellness centers at 22 of our sites, providing occupational and non-occupational physical and emotional wellness support services to site employees. In 2023, there were nearly 75,000 in-person employee visits across all of our sites and an increase in non-occupational visits.

We offer health assessments for our employees who work internationally. A health assessment is a preventative health check that uses medical and non-invasive tests to give a current health and well-being overview. As part of these assessments, our employees benefit from a year of health and well-being support from medical experts to help them achieve their long-term health and fitness goals.

Lockheed Martin offers a flu vaccination program that delivers the vaccine to employees on-site; nearly 9,000 employees participated in the program during 85 events at 52 sites in 2023. Automated external defibrillator (AED) devices are also available and managed at over 700 Lockheed Martin sites in the U.S.

Employee Assistance Program

Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides free and confidential emotional support, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, both virtually and in person. The program includes resources for employees and their families in the areas of emotional well-being; financial counseling; legal counseling; mediation services; adult, child and elder care support; and educational resources. In 2023, our EAP services transitioned to a new third-party service provider, allowing us to expand the suite of services we offer. In addition to traditional EAP work-life services and eight no cost counseling sessions per issue per year, our EAP program offers a robust behavioral health provider network; 24/7 text, audio and video therapy; and a self-guided resiliency app.

Providing Education and Outreach

Keeping our employees and leadership up to date on the most recent health information is key to effective personal and professional decision-making. The Health and Wellness team provides focused presentations to teams across the business areas and the enterprise on topics such as COVID-19, Mpox, mental health and emotional well-being. In 2023, more than 40 presentations contributed to increased employee awareness and assisted with business area responses to health concerns.

Flexible Work Schedules

We offer a variety of work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. We offer the standard five-day / 40-hour  work week; however, most employees work a four-day / 10-hour work week or a nine-day / 80-hour two-week schedule. As appropriate, many employees can also work fully remotely from home or on a hybrid schedule that blends working on-site and remotely.

Paid Time Off

We also offer a competitive paid time off program, which provides flexibility to take time off and includes a generous carryover feature for unused balances year-over-year.
